The kandams of a Nadi leaf
The General Kandam identifies you and outlines your life. Each further kandam opens one house of life. You choose which to hear.

- Thumb impression only
- No leaf found, no fee

Nadi tradition holds that everything that happens in a life falls under twelve kinds of prediction, arranged like the twelve houses of a horoscope. In Guruji's own explanation, written for visitors to the centre: the General Kandam gives the overall predictions, and if you want detail in one area, you ask for that kandam. If your leaf is not available, you need not pay.
1 · General Kandam (Pothu Kandam)
The base reading. It confirms your identity from the leaf — your name, your parents' names, your birth details as written — and gives the outline of every other chapter. Most people take this first and decide afterwards.
2 · Wealth, family, speech, education
Money and how it comes, family life, eyesight, learning.
3 · Siblings, courage, short journeys
Brothers and sisters, their relationship with you, your own courage and effort.
4 · Mother, home, property, comforts
Mother, house and land, vehicles, the comforts of the home.
5 · Children
Children and their futures; where there are none, the reasons written in the leaf and the remedies.
6 · Health, debts, enemies, obstacles
Illness and its causes, litigation and disputes, debts, and the periods to be careful.
7 · Marriage
The spouse — direction, disposition, sometimes the coded name — the time of marriage and the married life.
8 · Longevity and danger
Lifespan, accidents and difficult periods, and how they are passed.
9 · Father, fortune, spiritual merit
Father, luck, pilgrimages, the benefit of good deeds.
10 · Career and business
Profession or business, changes of work, success and the timing of it.
11 · Gains and a second marriage
Profits and gains; a second marriage where the leaf writes one.
12 · Expenses, foreign life, liberation
Spending, life abroad, the next birth and moksha.
Shanti Kandam and Deeksha Kandam
The past-birth karma the leaf attributes your difficulties to, and the remedies written for it — temple visits, charity, specific observances. Optional, and never a condition of any other kandam. Some leaves also carry Aushada (medicine) and Dasa-Bhukti (planetary period) chapters.
Fees are per kandam and told to you before you choose. See the fees page →
